Orlando Master Planned Communities
Situated throughout Greater Orlando, master planned communities offer real estate
choices and life style options to suit families, working professionals and older
adults. Typically, the communities have their own parks, recreational facilities,
schools, shopping areas and, often, golfing greens. Home prices in Orlando
master planned communities can start in the low $100s and go to several million
for large luxury estates.
Some Orlando master planned communities offer a variety of housing styles;
others may feature only townhomes or single-family residences.
Waterford Lakes is a 2000-acre townhouse community with community tennis courts,
swimming pools and playgrounds. The charming neighborhoods in Vista Lakes offer
single-family homes from $150,000 to $400,000. Amenities in Vista Lakes include
biking and jogging trails, parks and nature preserves. Located close to the University
of Central Florida, Newport is a 947-acre master planned community. This cozy
community is affordable, close to shopping and includes a community pool. Single-family
homes range in price from $160,000 to $200,000.
Located north of downtown Orlando, Heathrow is a 3,000-acre master planned community
with approximately 2,000 single-family homes, condos and townhouses. Nestled within
Heathrow are several villages with walking, jogging and biking paths, fishing
and public parks. The most moderately priced homes start around $150,000; lake
or golf properties can run over $1 million.
Hunter's Creek, south of Orlando, is a 4,000-acre master planned community with
approximately 35 distinct neighborhoods. Cypress Pointe is a smaller neighborhood
with only two main streets. Fairways is a gated-community surrounded by lakes.
With plans for 8,500 residents, Hunter's Creek offers single-family homes and
townhouses ranging in price from $140,000 to $300,000+ for property with water
or golf views. Land is also available for custom building.
